God’s Supernatural “Highway”

My last post dealt with the Highway of God that is declared in chapter 35 of the book of Isaiah.  He was of course prophesying about the “New Creation”, “New Testament”, “Kingdom of Heaven” reality that Jesus taught about in His sermon on the mount (Matt. 5:3-11).  You will have to listen to my sermon posts and read the other blogs that pertain to this highway and the blessing of the beatitudes to get all the back story.  Today’s thought, however, is how God provides supernatural resources to those that choose to walk in this “Way”.

Some believe that supernatural miracles no longer take place.  You might think that the bible stories we read about no longer happen in this modern world.  “Au contrar” my good friend.  Listen to these modern day accounts of God’s supernatural provision for His chosen people during Israel’s 6 day war in 1967.
“There is no end to the stories that have been documented from the battles: of the Egyptian tank commander in the Sinai Desert who surrendered to a vastly inferior Israeli force on the second day of the war, because a desert mirage made him see hundreds of Israeli tanks where there were no more than a dozen; of the Jordanian forces who welcomed the Israeli tanks under the command of Colonel Uri Ram into Shechem on the third day of the war, because faulty communications misled the Arabs into thinking that these were Iraqi tanks come to reinforce them.”
“Day two of the war…By 7:30 AM, two hundred Israeli Air Force (IAF) planes were in the air, heading towards Egyptian airbases. Though flying very low, so as not to be detected by the scores of Arab radar sites, a Jordanian radar facility detected an unusually large number of aircraft heading towards the sea. The officer on duty immediately sent a message, “Inab,” the codeword for war, to Jordan military headquarters in Amman. The message was encoded and passed on to Egypt’s defense minister in Cairo. Miraculously, however, the Egyptian coding frequencies had been changed the previous day, and the Jordanians had not been updated. That morning, with the element of surprise in their favor, the IAF obliterated six Egyptian airfields—two in Egypt proper and four in the Sinai Desert—destroying 204 Egyptian planes, half of their air force. Though Egypt had sufficient anti-aircraft ammunition to destroy all the attacking Israeli planes, miraculously, no order was given for these missiles to be launched. The Israelis accomplished their mission with practically no resistance.”

These stories and more have been recounted by the Arab soldiers themselves to UN authorities after the war, and detail how God supernaturally protected and aided Israel.  God has a plan for Israel that He will defend.  And God has a plan for you that He will defend as well.  The secret to entering into this supernatural relationship with Him, is to identify HIS plan for your life and be diligent to follow it.  Then you will see His supernatural hand operating the blessing in every area of endeavor.

To learn more, come join us on “The Highway” this Sunday at 10am at Generate Life Church.  You will be glad you did!

  1. Pastor Jeff it is truly wonderful how God’s Word connects and opens up in so many ways. Isaiah 40 further speaks of this highway…3) The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. (4) Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; (5) The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; ….As you have been sharing this can be seen as the “Highway” the Lord has prepared for us to experience as believers in this present time. He know just where our crooked places are, where the rough has to be smoothed. He knows what has to be made low in our lives. As we seek HIm and yield to His way He leads us from glory to glory! Thank you Pastor Jeff for opening up God’s Word and sharing the light you have received.
