We are studying Isaiah 35:8.   And a “highway” will be there; it will be called “the Way” of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on “that Way”. The unclean will not journey on it.

Remember in John 14:6 when Jesus declared that He was “THE WAY, the truth and the life”?  He was referencing Isaiah’s prophesy about the “High”way of the blessings of the beatitudes and the Way of holiness that is available only through Jesus.  The son of God declared He was “the Gate” and “Narrow Door” to this way.  No other man can make this claim.  Jesus was, is and always will be our access point to this HIGH WAY of Isaiah 35.  He is the high priest of this way.

It is in the Book of Acts that “way” takes on a new, special meaning and usage. Acts presents the concept of “the way.” It was said of Saul, “And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem” (Acts 9: 2). “This way” is literally “the way” (tes odou). “The way” clearly distinguishes the way of Christianity apart from other ways and also suggests the exclusiveness of the way of Christ. The Jews at Ephesus “spoke evil of that way before the multitude,” we are told.  We also read, “And the same time there arose no small stir about that way” (Acts 19: 23). “The way” was despairingly called “heresy” by some (Acts 24: 14). We also read that Felix acquired “more perfect knowledge of that way” (Acts 24: 22). “The way” stands out in Acts as a strikingly different system…and Jesus described it as the “kingdom of heaven”.  We are promised that if we seek first this kingdom and God’s righteousness, then everything we need will be added unto us.  This is a powerful revelation for us about THE WAY.

The lesson regarding “the way” in Acts is that Christianity is a course that can be defined and determined. It is a way that has perimeters and boundaries. It is a course that can be entered and traveled, having a definite destination.  That destination is the heavenly authority that we can operate in establishing things on earth as they are in heaven…through binding and loosing.  This is the good news of the blessing of Abraham that is accessed through Jesus for this life and throughout eternity. “The way” is a way that has many clear and readable road and directional signs in order that it can be safely navigated.  The road signs we have been studying are the Beatitudes, the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus’s I AM statements and the tabernacle of Moses.  All of these line up in an amazing way to give us a very clear picture of THE WAY that is a light unto our path.  There are many alleged “false” roads or ways to heaven, but they in reality lead to hell (Prov. 14: 12, Matt. 7: 13, 14,). There are also many man-made roadblocks, detours, and barricades put in place by man.  We need to educate ourselves about the map of THE WAY and all its destinations.

We invite you to join us in studying more about this WAY every Sunday at 10am.
