Why G-LIFE Fitness?

Just as I arrive at a place where I begin to understand life a little bit and enjoy the many fun things which I am called to do, all of a sudden I notice my body starting to break down robbing me of the ability to do them.

O wretched man that I am!  🙂

People in their 50s, 60s and 70s are regularly battling cancer, sickness and disease…and dying well before they have the opportunity to impart to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
I never knew my grandfather on my mother’s side and my children never knew my dad, their grandfather.  Sadly, generations are growing up without mature wise role models.
Yet, the bible says we can be living healthy all the way up to 120 years of age. (Gen. 6:3)
But as metabolisms slow down, accompanied by unhealthy eating habits and sedentary lifestyles, we become subject to major health attacks that distract and kill God’s people. The enemy is having a hay day with the body of Christ.  As a result, we end up spending thousands of dollars on medications rather than on advancing the gospel.  God’s people need to be the ones that have the answers and share the Good News of living victoriously in the world. There are anointings and wisdom that come with age and these need to be imparted to a sick and dying world.  Unfortunately, aging ministers often find themselves praying for fellow believers and friends with cancer and disease because many have received doctors reports giving them only days or months to live.  I say, NOT ON MY WATCH!

We know with God all things are possible and He can perform miracles, but in addition to praying and believing we should be living in Divine Health.

In our present GLC Fitness bible study, we have seen how making a few simple changes in our eating habits can greatly reduce risks of sickness and disease. Reducing man-made chemicals and processed sugars, while eating simple natural healthy foods like vegetables, fruits and whole grains can regularly provide life changing information to our body’s cells that increase energy, vitality and function.
In the same way, FITNESS plays a huge part. And that’s why we are here. To learn and encourage one another about starting wherever we are at, as we begin to exercise and train our bodies.  If we will just make simple adjustments…like exercising at our desk for just a few minutes every one to two hours or taking a walk at lunch, our bodies will begin to feel better and stronger. This will allow for other new simple changes that lead to whatever level of fitness is right for us.  Then as we continue to get stronger we can make increasingly better choices and be a part of a thriving community which encourages one another through life-changing fellowship.
