Prayer for Tomorrow’s Election

  1. We pray for more of God’s Presence to be experienced in our community and our nation and in this election process. (Ps. 16:11; 2 Cor. 3:17).
  2. We pray for the church to see the need to repent of personal and national sins in the fear of God and to call on the name of the Lord. (2 Chron. 7:14; 1 John 1:9; Prov. 9:10).
  3. We pray for believers to unite in prayer to seek God for their states, neighborhoods and communities and to bring healing in areas where we have been divided.   (1 Tim. 2:1-2).
  4. We pray for God’s Truth to be revealed and made known in this election and that His Wisdom would be a guiding light for all candidates, their campaigns and all voters. (Luke 8:17)
  5. We pray for Godly candidates to be elected, regardless of party affiliation (Ps. 96:10; Ps. 1:1–3).
  6. We pray that God will use this election to make clear the need for our country to hunger and thirst for righteousness and that we will come together in unity across party lines to find common sense solutions for the issues that face this nation. (Matt. 5:6)
  7. We pray for administrators, legislators and judges to serve in a way that aligns with God’s Word (Ps. 19:7–11).
  8. We pray for elections to be fair, honest, and without corruption (Prov. 16:13).
  9. We pray that the Holy Spirit convicts many who do not know Christ, leading them to seek Him as Lord; and that many will turn to Him in the uncertainty of these times.  (1 Tim. 2:4).
  10. We pray for divine protection over our nation during the critical upcoming elections (Prov. 3:5; Ps. 91).
  11. We pray that those candidates who know Christ would openly and courageously speak of their faith and stand firm on their biblical principles(Matt. 5:13-16).
  12. We pray that Christians across the nation will persist in seeking God’s purpose for America beyond the elections, and that God, in his mercy, will usher in transforming revival (Ezek. 37; Ps.42:1).

  1. Pastor Jeff, I am glad you posted this, even though the elections are over we still need to continue to be aware of the platforms and must continue to pray for our nation to return to God.
