Read Esther Chapter 4.

God’s people have always been under attack by an enemy that seeks to steal, kill and destroy.  Esther was challenged with this stark reality.  A plot to annihilate her people was underway.  Her decision to call her people to fast and pray was the difference maker.  Fasting teaches us that our true daily bread is our spiritual connection to God.  Feeding our spirit provides sustenance at the root of our being that supplies God’s provision to meet every need.  Fasting puts us in a position of sensitivity to hear the reassuring voice of God and in Esther’s case it became a contact point of faith to receive God’s favor and deliverance.  She took the responsibility to intercede for her people sacrificially.  God rewards those who diligently seek him and this is the confidence we have.  We can’t earn God’s love through fasting, but in it we gain a revelation of the promises that are already ours by faith.  Esther saw God turn the situation around.  And what He did for one He will do again for those who call on His Name!

God give us this daily spiritual connection to You, that we may prioritize our heart, soul and strength to your plan for each day and by it overcome in every area.
